Post Malone Teases Unreleased Tim McGraw Collab On Heels of Opry Debut Announcement

Post Malone Has Officially Started His Transition From Hip-Hop To Country

Post Malone has fully embraced his country era. And some of the genre’s most formidable acts—from Morgan Wallen to Blake Shelton—have embraced him right back.

The world will get to hear the “White Iverson” rapper’s career about-face in full when F-1 Trillion drops Aug. 16. Now, Malone is teasing a collaboration with yet another Nashville heavyweight.

Hear Post Malone’s New Song With Tim McGraw

At this point, we’ve probably all thrown out our 2024 bingo cards. But Post Malone teaming up with ’90s country giant Tim McGraw likely wasn’t on it anyway.

The “I Had Some Help” singer tantalized his fans Monday (Aug. 5) with a snippet of his Tim McGraw collab, “Wrong Ones.” In a promotional video posted to social media, Malone laments, I’m just lookin’ for the right one / But them wrong ones keep lookin’ at me.

The teaser saw one prescient Instagram user claiming, “Album of the year, mark my words.”

Below, another agreed: “It’s not just the country album of the year, it’s THE album of the year.”

The sneak peek comes on the heels of another major career announcement for Post Malone. The GRAMMY winner announced earlier the same day that he will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on Wednesday, Aug. 14. He will perform alongside Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Lainey Wilson, John Michael Montgomery, and the War and Treaty.

You know it’s real when you get that invitation from country music’s sacred ground.

Post Malone Matches Impressive Taylor Swift Achievement

Post Malone has been everywhere in 2024, and not only in the country musc realm. In April, he partnered with Taylor Swift on “Fortnight,” the lead single to her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. And that’s not all the genre-bending musician (born Austin Richard Post) has in common with the “Eras” tour megastar.

The rollicking Morgan Wallen duet “I Had Some Help” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart this week. The track reached the same position on the Country Airplay chart shortly after its release. This makes Malone, 29, just the second artist to ever top both the Pop Airplay and Country Airplay charts with the same song.

The first? Taylor Swift, obviously. The 14-time GRAMMY winner achieved this distinction in 2009 with “Love Story,” the lead single from her sophomore record Fearless.
