Cardi B and Offset were targeted in a swatting hoax at their home in Sandy Springs, Georgia this past August.

In an incident captured on police bodycam and published to TMZ Monday, officers in the early morning hours of August 10, 2023 responded to the home of Cardi B, 31, and Offset, 32, in response to reports someone had been shot there.

In the adjacent police report, officers said that a party reported that a person had opened fire toward a ‘famous rapper’s house,’ the outlet reported.

Police said the reporting party ‘suggested Cardi herself may have been hit with a bullet,’ the outlet reported, leading officers to arrive at the home with sirens on and weapons drawn.

Police said that upon arriving on the premises of the musical stars, they determined the report had been a hoax.

Law enforcement was able to speak with Offset’s uncle Derrick Cephus, who told them that he was housesitting for the famous then-couple, and that no one else had been on the premises recently.

Offset’s uncle then dialed up the Migos rapper to inform him what had happened, keeping him on a speakerphone with police present.

Offset told his uncle, ‘That’s a f***ing fake call, we’re in LA … that’s fake.’

A rankled Offset told his uncle that he and Cardi B had been in Los Angeles at the time, and that they were in no danger.

Offset’s uncle asked officers if they knew the source of the report, and police said they had a number and would investigate further.

Police took a report of the incident and departed the premises.

The musical stars are the latest to be targeted in a swatting hoax, in which a bad actor reports to authorities a fictional violent incident going on at the celebrity’s home, in an effort to provoke a response from authorities.

Notable names who have past been targeted in similar hoaxes include Pharrell, Nicki Minaj, Paris Hilton and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greeneas well as the Playboy Mansion.

Cardi B and Offset, who are parents to two children – daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, five, and son Wave Set Cephus, two – appeared to have parted ways last month.

On New Year’s Eve, both Offset and the New York City native, whose full name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, performed separately at Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau Hotel.

The Bongos performer subsequently took to social media to reveal that she and Offset had a romantic reunion in ringing in the new year – but were still not back together yet.

‘Was I clubbing with my baby daddy, yes,’ Cardi said. ‘Did I get d*** down on New Year’s Eve, yes. I needed d*** on New Year’s Eve. I feel like we were vibing on New Year’s Eve, we had a good time.’

Cardi stressed that while they had the one-off fling, they were not fully reunited, as she tweeted, ‘We not together.. we together when I say so not when you THINK so.’
