Over the years, Henry Cavill has shown his fans that there are many sides to him.
From embodying DC’s Superman to playing Netflix’s Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, he has proved that he can do everything. However, apart from his love for acting, the 40-year-old also enjoyed being in tune with nature and his surroundings. Although with the actor’s incredible stamina and muscular build, he could not find the right travel buddy for years.
Thankfully for the actor, that seemed to change 7 years ago, when Cavill ended up debuting his four-legged buddy, Kal, as his official traveling companion.
When Henry Cavill hard launched Kal as his travel buddy
In 2017, Henry Cavill was working on a psychological thriller, Nomis, with Ben Kingsley, Stanley Tucci, and Minka Kelly. The new project ensured that the actor was always traveling and did not have a minute to himself.
While the star might have been packed with work, he seemed to keep his cool only thanks to his beloved dog, Kal. In a post to his Instagram, the 40-year-old shared a post dedicated to his “constant companion”, his loyal American Akita.
Cavill had shared a collage of Kal, filled with 3 pictures. In the caption, he credited the dog for making “an impossible task” feel like “less of a mission.”
With his furry friend keeping him company on those long and rather lonely flights, it is no wonder that the actor and his four-legged best friend have built quite a bond between them. Although this might have been the former DC star’s first time taking his pet on a work trip with him, it ended up becoming a usual thing.
In fact, just two short years later, Kal ended up becoming a beloved regular on The Witcher set while Cavill was still in the fantasy series.
Henry Cavill and Kal on The Witcher set
Since 2019, Henry Cavill has taken over the world as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher. With the actor having to spend a lot of time on the set, he ended up taking his American Akita, Kal, with him. While that gave the two more quality time together, there were also moments that left the actor feeling scared for the health of his dog. Although there may have been ups and downs on the set, one thing was clear, the 40-year-old just wanted to be with his best friend.
Unfortunately, that could not happen with Cavill’s recent project as he had to work with a cat in Argylle. However, while Kal might not have been able to join him on set, the actor still managed to find time to travel with his furry friend. In fact, he even showed up with him for the promotions of his recent fantasy thriller.
