Law and Order: SVU announces major cast update for season 26

This fall, Law & Order: SVU is set to return with its highly anticipated 26th season, premiering on October 3. Fans can expect some significant cast updates as the hit drama continues to evolve.

Joining the ranks of SVU this season is actress Juliana Aidén Martinez, who will take on the role of a new detective. While specifics about her character remain under wraps, Martinez is no stranger to our screens. She recently starred as June in Netflix’s acclaimed series Griselda, alongside Sofia Vergara.

Another notable change is the promotion of Kevin Kane, who plays Detective Terry Bruno. Kane’s character, introduced in Season 24, has been elevated to a series regular. Christopher Meloni recently shared his hopes for the future of their relationship: “What I hope is that we find the space to move forward. I don’t know if we have, but I look forward to keep trying it. To keep challenging it. To keep trying to figure it out.”

In addition to these updates, the Law & Order flagship series is also undergoing changes. Maura Tierney, known for her work on ER, will join the cast as a new lieutenant in Season 24, replacing Camryn Manheim, who announced her departure in May.
