Country star Lainey Wilson claims work ethic comes from ‘long line of farmers’
Country singer Lainey Wilson credited the work ethic that has brought her success in music and Hollywood to her ancestry in farming.
Wilson, 32, is a singer-songwriter with almost 8 million listeners on Spotify who was also cast in the series Yellowstone. She shared her background with Fox News Digital.
“I truly do think it is from being from a long line of farmers, I mean, on my mom’s side and my daddy’s side. They rolled their sleeves up. They got to work every single day and had good years and bad years, but at the end of the day, they loved it,” Wilson said.
“They just had no other option, and my daddy has always tried to remind me that he worked really hard, but he’s not just working hard for himself. He’s working hard for me and my sister and my mama and my sister’s kids and one day my kids,” she added.

As a result of coming from a fifth-generation farmer, Wilson has a partnership with Tractor Supply that she plans to continue. Their family’s farm in Louisiana benefitted from the store.
On Thursday, Wilson earned three out of four of her Academy of Country Music nominations, winning Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Music Event of the Year for her performance on the song “Save Me” with Jelly Roll. Her most recent song release came earlier this month with the song, “Hang Tight Honey.”
Earlier this year, Wilson offered her testimony to Congress in warning against artificial intelligence using her voice or others’ voices for deepfake audio clips. She asked for lawmakers’ help to keep her art hers.
