Legend features a strong lineup of artists such as Rick Ross, Muni Long, Jazmine Sullivan, Jada Kingdom, Rapsody, Ledisi, Jhene Aiko, Ty Dolla $ign…
On September 9, John Legend – the owner of 12 Grammy gold statues, officially released his 8th studio album called Legend. Produced mainly by John Legend and famous musician and music producer Ryan Tedder (leader of One Republic, who has collaborated with Beyoncé, Adele…), this album is vibrant, full of joy and passion, while also conveying pain, praise and healing.

As the name suggests, Legend is a double album with Act I vividly evoking Saturday night with its earthy pleasures, lust, instinct and adventure. Act I opens with Rounds featuring Rick Ross. Other tracks include the R&B Splash featuring Jhene Aiko and rapper Ty Dolla $ign, Dope – a summery anthem featuring rapper J.I.D and culminating with the addictive and utterly sublime All She Wanna Do with Saweetie.

Act II evokes the feeling of a Sunday morning filled with healing, intimacy and connection. It includes Honey – a catchy R&B track featuring Muni Long, Wonder Woman – a song featuring Dap Kings that celebrates the strength and grace of the women in John Legend’s life. It also features other beautiful, gentle ballads such as Goods, Pices…

The album Legend has a classic feel but still feels fresh and adventurous, reflecting John Legend’s new beginning in life. At the same time, this album also affirms his place in the flow of black art, where the stories of ancestors are honored as well as love, beauty and joy.

Legend also marks the first time the artist has used his stage name as a symbol on an album. John Legend explains: ‘I’ve never used my name as a title for an album before. I had to find that, live up to it by delivering the best performance and music. And I’m proud of who I am, I’m confident in the work I do, and I’m going to make a statement about it.’
