The New York Yankees have had a busy offseason. They signed Max Fried and Paul Goldschmidt. They also traded for Cody Bellinger and Devin Williams. While they are great additions, they did not land a player at the caliber of Juan Soto.

Fortunately for the Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. could become available if contract extension talks break down. If the two sides cannot come to an agreement, Guerrero would become a free agent next winter.

FanSided’s Jacob Mountz proposed this trade that would bring Guerrero to the Bronx:

Losing Jones, Warren and Pereira would be a lot for the Yankees to give up. That’s what it might take to get the Blue Jays to trade Guerrero within the American League East. They would have to feel confident in their ability to agree to a long-term deal will Guerrero as well.

Jones would be the prized player going to Toronto. The 23-year-old is the Yankees’ No. 2 overall prospect and their second-best outfield prospect. With Jasson Domínguez seemingly ready for a bigger role in the big leagues, the Yankees may be willing to part with Jones.

“His raw power is seen as prolific, but making enough contact to showcase that power has been the issue. This past season, he broke the Yankees’ minor league strikeout record,” wrote Mountz. “On the plus side, his speed has enabled him to accumulate stolen bases at a healthy rate and play centerfield quite well. If he can make more contact, the potential for stardom is there.”
