Leo Messi boasts 45 career trophies but there’s one he FAILED to win
Lionel Messi has cemented his status as the most decorated player in football history by winning back-to-back Copa America finals, securing his record 45th career title. This achievement surpasses his own previous record of 44 titles.
The Argentine icon’s trophy cabinet includes an array of silverware that most players can only dream of: a World Cup, multiple Champions League titles, and even the Leagues Cup.
But there is one he failed to win while challenging for it: the French Cup. Messi’s quest for this title ended in disappointment when PSG was knocked out of the tournament in the round of 16 after a penalty shootout loss to Nice back in 2022. Unless Leo returns to France to finish business, it will remain the only major trophy he has not won.
It’s clear, though, that Messi’s legacy is not defined by this single missing piece but by his unparalleled achievements on the world stage.
