Angel Reese has telling response to net worth question amid WNBA rise
Angel Reese shut down a net worth valuation of $2 million despite her average salary of $81,000 – claiming that her wage is a bonus when compared to major endorsement deals
Reese was drafted seventh overall out of LSU in 2024 and finished second behind Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever in the voting for WNBA Rookie of the Year. The 22-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Sky worth $324,383 with an average annual salary of $81,096, but recently admitted that her WNBA check is a ‘bonus’ compared to her income elsewhere
The popular WNBA star has recently partnered with Reese’s Candy under the Hershey brand and also announced a multi-year extension with Reebok, with her signature shoe set to launch in 2026. Despite her salary, Reese is one of the richest players in the WNBA and appears to be worth more than the majority of estimates.
Reese attended ComplexCon in Las Vegas between Nov. 16-17 and was asked about her net worth during an interview on stage. “$2 Million. Is that inaccurate?” host Speedy Morman asked before Reese replied: “Yeah.”
Morman then attempted to test Reese, and asked if the estimate was “way off” or “close.” The Sky guard didn’t hesitate and boldly stated “way off” as she flexed her current financial situation.
Although Reese didn’t declare an actual figure, the WNBA star did explain how her privileged position means she can take care of her entire family and close friends. “I’m able to spend time with my mom,” Reese said. “I can pay my mom’s mortgage. My family, everybody’s taken care of. I bring my friends here.”
Reese has become one of the most marketable women’s athletes and was signed by Reebok after former LSU and NBA star Shaquille O’Neal became president of the company. O’Neal’s first move was to sign Reese to an NIL deal in college, and he said: “There is no one making a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese.”
