Adele Once Got ‘So Drunk’ She Forgot She Was Famous
The superstar singer was recorded in a club sounding very confused – as she asked dancers how they knew who she was
A video has resurfaced which appears to show singer-songwriter Adele temporarily forgetting that she is famous on a night out.
The 34-year-old was enjoying a night at Heaven night club in London at the time it was recorded back in February, attending its ‘Porn Idol’ event.
Hosted by Drag Race UK star Cheryl Hole, it was a rare sighting of the performer seemingly drunk, after she publicly gave up drinking in October 2021.
While several clips emerged from the night out, which took place back in February, one in particular stood out – as Adele appears to forget that she is famous.
As the TikTok shows she is leaning down from the VIP area to ask a group of revellers on the dancefloor: “How does everyone know it’s me?”
We don’t get to hear what the person behind the camera phone has to say, although we can only assume it went something like, “Because you’re Adele.”
At the end of last year, the Essex-native told US Vogue that she suffered from ‘hangxiety’ – which first became an issue during lockdown.
“I’m always a bit hungover on Monday morning. It got earlier and earlier, the drinking,” she claimed.
“I was falling out the back door of the bar rather than falling out of the front. Then I remember I woke up with the worst hangover. “Hangxiety, I call it. ‘Who did I talk to? What did I do? It was a month of me going crazy.”
In the comment section of the now-viral TikTok, several users remarked upon how down to earth the A-lister came across.

“She’s just trying to have a normal night out”, one person commented, while another added: “Love it when A-list celebrities forget they’re famous.”
Earlier that night, Adele had been on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show to discuss life after the release her 30 album, as well as the BRIT Awards.
While on the talk-show, she described how she ‘loves being a female artist’, after BRIT award bosses had officially scrapped gendered categories.
Adele beat favourite Ed Sheeran in the Artist Of The Year category back in February – which now includes all artists regardless of gender – after they both released eagerly anticipated albums around the same time last year.
“I understand why the name of this award has changed, but I really love being a woman and being a female artist,” she said during her acceptance speech at the BRIT
