‘We teased him a bit’: Pedri on failed Nico Williams move to Barcelona

Barcelona pursued Nico Williams in the summer but ultimately failed as the winger rejected the club’s approach. The 22-year-old has a contract with Athletic Bilbao until 2027.

During the Euros, Barca players in the Spain squad tried to convince him to move to Catalonia – but to no avail.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Pedri said of the failed pursuit of Nico: “Ah, we teased him a bit. He had a contract with the club, it was a difficult situation. If he decided to stay, it would be for something.

“Now, I hope he does well. Here in the national team we have a lot of fun with him and the truth is that if he is happy, we are all happy.”
