Toni Kroos bid farewell to the Santiago Bernabeu in a solemn and touching scene when Carlo Ancelotti replaced him in the 85th minute of the match between Real Madrid and Real Betis at the end of La Liga.

Toni Kroos had announced his retirement from football after participating in the Euro 2024 tournament with the German national team, and he has one match remaining with Real Madrid, which will be against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on June 1.

Real Madrid had offered Toni Kroos an extension of his contract, which expires at the end of the current season, but he preferred to retire and justified this by saying that he wanted to leave football while he was in full fitness instead of sitting on the bench.
