The megastar of Real Madrid has reached the status of the club’s highest-paid player after receiving a personal award

2024 has been a remarkable year for Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr., firmly establishing his reputation as one of the top footballers in the world.

This achievement was highlighted by his wins for the FIFA The Best Men’s Player of the Year and the Globe Soccer Award for Best Player of 2024, as well as his close second place to Rodri in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

Vinicius’ rise as one of the best players in the world has now been matched by his rise as the highest-paid player at Real Madrid

Awards Lead to Higher Earnings

According to AS, Vinicius’ ascent as one of the world’s best players has now been reflected in his status as the highest-paid player at Real Madrid.

His victory at The Best awards has significantly increased his salary, surpassing even Kylian Mbappe’s earnings at the club.

The Brazilian winger, recognized as FIFA’s best player in Qatar, has experienced a substantial salary boost, bringing his net income closer to €20 million for the final two years of his current contract.

Vinicius’ contract, renewed in 2022 and lasting until 2027, was designed to increase progressively, with the 24-year-old originally set to earn €75 million net over the entire agreement—averaging €15 million per season.

However, following his success at the FIFA The Best Awards, Vinicius will now earn €20 million net per season for the last two years of his contract.

Additionally, if he wins another The Best Award or the Ballon d’Or, or finishes in the top three for either honor, his salary will increase again. Given his current performance level, this seems highly achievable.

Furthermore, as reported last week, Real Madrid plans to initiate discussions for a new contract with Vinicius, particularly with interest from Saudi Arabia, which could lead to an even higher salary for the 24-year-old.
