That’s insane: Lunin to blame for Carvajal’s injury – fans find evidence

Real Madrid ended their 9th La Liga matchday against Villarreal with some very bad news: a serious injury to Dani Carvajal. The accidental collision with Yeremi Pino was preceded by an incident involving Andriy Lunin… which could have ended very differently.

The match was about to be over. A Villarreal move ended in a goal kick in favour of Real Madrid and as Lunin was settling the ball, Carvajal asked him to take a long throw. However, the number 13 ignored the request and decided to pass to the defender, who was already open.

But then Dani gave the ball to Valverde, who played it back to Lunin, Andriy played it to Militao and the Brazilian played it back to Carvajal.

It was then that he collided with Yeremi Pino… and the injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season. The game could have ended differently if Lunin had listened to Carvajal, who repeatedly told him to play long. When he realised what had happened, Lunin went straight to Carvajal.
