Ter Stegen potentially out for ‘7 to 9 months’ with knee injury
Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s season is probably over after suffering a nasty knee injury in the game against Villarreal.
Towards the end of the first half, the German goalkeeper leapt up to collect a cross and then landed badly on his right knee.
He had to be stretchered out of the stadium and be replaced by back-up goalkeeper Inaki Pena.
As per AS, the initial expectations are that Ter Stegen will not be able to play any part of this season anymore.
He is expected to miss 7-9 months of action with the knee injury and only return at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
