Rick Ross Shrugs Off Diddy-Cassie Drama: “I’m Just Focused on the Music”
When it comes to the messy fallout from the leaked hotel footage of Diddy and his former girlfriend Cassie, hip-hop heavyweight Rick Ross isn’t letting the drama distract him from the task at hand – making music.
In a recent interview, the “Hustlin’” rapper addressed the much-discussed controversy in his characteristically nonchalant manner, making it clear that he’s unbothered by the salacious headlines and social media chatter surrounding his frequent collaborator Diddy.
“You know, I try not to get too caught up in all that Hollywood stuff,” Ross said with a casual shrug. “At the end of the day, my focus is on the music, you feel me? That’s where my energy is going.”
The footage in question, which surfaced online earlier this week, showed Diddy and Cassie engaged in a tense exchange at a hotel, sparking a flurry of speculation about the state of their long-term relationship. However, Ross – who has worked extensively with Diddy over the years – seems unfazed by the drama.
“Puff, he’s my dog, you know?” the rapper continued. “We’ve been in the studio, we’ve been on the road, we’ve been through a lot together. And at the end of the day, that’s family. So I’m not about to get all riled up over some hotel footage, you feel me? That’s their business.”
Instead, Ross indicated that he’s channeling his efforts into more productive endeavors – namely, the recording of his highly anticipated 11th studio album. “I’m just focused on making that next classic, you know?” he said with a grin. “That’s where my head’s at. All that other stuff, that’s just noise to me.”
It’s a characteristically level-headed response from the always-composed Ross, who has long been known for his ability to maintain his cool in the face of industry drama and controversy. And with a new album on the horizon, it’s clear that the Miami native has his sights set firmly on the future, unbothered by the salacious headlines that may surround his peers.
“At the end of the day, we’re all just out here trying to make our art, you feel me?” Ross concluded. “That’s what it’s really about. Everything else, that’s just noise.”
