Megan Rapinoe wants Colin Kaepernick at 2028 Olympics — as US flag-bearer
Megan Rapinoe wants to see Colin Kaepernick at the 2028 Olympics — and not just playing flag football.
The former United States women’s national team star told her “A Touch More” podcast co-host and fiancée Sue Bird on Wednesday that he should have a high honor when the Games come to Los Angeles.

The quarterback, who hasn’t taken a snap since the 2016 season with the 49ers, has long sought a way back into the NFL after his kneeling during the anthem made him a hotly contested player.
Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh recently revealed he offered Kaepernick, 36, a spot on his coaching staff, and said his former San Francisco quarterback was “considering it.”
“If that was ever the path he was to take, I think that would be tremendous,” Harbaugh told USA Today. “He’d be a tremendous coach, if that’s the path he chose.”

Kaepernick, however, told Sky Sports this month that he’d love to go for the gold in L.A.
“We’re gonna work on some things, see if we can make it in there, but would love to be out there,” he said.
Count Rapinoe, who also garnered plenty of headlines for her kneeling and social justice activism, among those backing for a Kaepernick Olympics appearance with the non-tackle squad.

“Oh God, he would be so good in flag football. I mean he would be so good in the NFL, let’s just be clear about that. He is still being blackballed from the NFL right now,” Rapinoe said. “I think it would be awesome.”
