Meghan McCain says Jennifer Lopez was ‘deeply unpleasant’ on The View: ‘She was not nice’.

The Cactus Queen of Arizona has officially stepped to Jenny From the Block, as Meghan McCain’s new podcast features the former View cohost’s claim that Jennifer Lopez was “deeply unpleasant” when they interacted on the ABC talk show.

In the latest episode of her Citizen McCain podcast, McCain and cohost Miranda Wilkins discuss the current status of Lopez’s pop culture profile with media personality and TV producer Carlos King, and the trio seems to agree that the iconic performer’s career took a bit of a hit in 2024.

“I, too, share similar negative stories that the entire world does,” McCain says in the clip. “I feel bad because we’re turning a point where there’s bullying happening to J.Lo. She just is a deeply unpleasant person. She had the biggest entourage I’ve ever seen [when she was on The View]More than Kim Kardashian and the president. I just don’t really understand why it was needed.”

McCain and Wilkins then allege that, after McCain shared a prior TikTok video (below) in which she said that Lopez was not her “favorite” guest to have appeared next to her for an interview on The View, Lopez targeted McCain’s TikTok post.

“She had our video taken down, Carlos,” McCain claims, using the word “allegedly” to describe the situation without offering any proof of Lopez’s involvement in the post’s removal. She notes that the video was later reinstated on TikTok, while Wilkins jokes, “We’re beefing with her right now.”

A representative for McCain tells Entertainment Weekly, “We do not know how or why we received a violation notice. We pressed ‘appeal’ and the video was reinstated in a few hours.”

EW has also learned that the platform’s reporting process involves both automatic detection technology as well as a system that allows other users to report videos. Via that current procedure, there is no way for McCain or Wilkins to know who reported their video, as that process is anonymous.

On Citizen McCain, McCain recalled more of her experience with Lopez at The View, elaborating on the initial TikTok video in which she claimed that Lopez had a staff member holding “a mirror with lights while they were touching her up backstage” the entire time.

“I was a host at The View, she was not nice. You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was surprising that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful,” McCain says. “When you’re coming on a show for a 10-minute segment… just fake it till you make it for 10 f—ing minutes.”

King tells McCain and Wilkins that he’s a “huge” J.Lo fan and that the conversation has him “gagging.” King says he also met her in the past, back in her early success days while she was promoting her 2001 single “I’m Real” with Ja Rule.

“She was so nice, and she didn’t have a big entourage. Now look, I’m not a dummy. She has since became, like, this global superstar,” King says. “Megan knows I love Vegas. I went to see J.Lo in Vegas and — top 5 shows I’ve ever been to in my life… She performed and danced for 90 minutes straight — no break. She’s a hard worker, and I was shocked that people weren’t buying the tickets.”

EW has reached out to representatives for Lopez, TikTok, and The View for comment.

Though Lopez is currently enjoying strong streaming numbers for her Netflix action film Atlas, her latest album This Is Me… Now only posted one week on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 38, while its accompanying tour was ultimately canceled, and the album’s making-of documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, was mocked on social media.
