*Attorney Tony Buzbee has strongly criticized JAY-Z’s legal team’s efforts to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Jane Doe, who alleges that the rapper and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her at age 13.
Buzbee called the defense’s actions an “unprecedented attempt to silence a victim,” accusing them of intimidation and discrediting tactics, All Hip Hop.
Jane Doe’s lawsuit claims the assault occurred after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. JAY-Z’s lawyers argue inconsistencies in her account undermine its credibility, but Buzbee attributes any discrepancies to trauma-related memory lapses, which are common among survivors of sexual violence. He also defended his team’s investigation, highlighting extensive research, including interviews and event reconstructions, to substantiate Jane Doe’s allegations.
Buzbee claims evidence supports his client’s story, even though JAY-Z’s legal team disputes it, pointing to photos that place JAY-Z at another party. However, Buzbee argues these images do not account for all of JAY-Z’s activities that night.
“We won’t speculate on whether there was an after-after party,” Buzbee stated, “but her detailed description of the venue is consistent and specific to what happened that night.”

The attorney also alleges there’s a harassment campaign against his firm by individuals connected to the hip-hop star. These shady tactics, Buzbee asserted, are part of Jay’s attempt to undermine him as counsel for Jane Doe.
“This is nothing more than an improper attempt to intimidate plaintiff and her counsel,” Buzbee’s filing reads.
Meanwhile, we reported earlier that Jigga’s legal team filed an affidavit accusing Buzbee of attempting to pressure an individual to falsely connect an unrelated sex trafficking case to Diddy. The affidavit comes after Buzbee filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z, claiming he raped Jane Doe in 2000. In response, Jay’s lawyers filed a motion to dismiss the suit and requested that Jane Doe reveal her identity so he could “properly defend himself against this false claim through the legal process in a transparent manner.”
According to TMZ, Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, revealed that a woman contacted his firm after having a troubling experience with Buzbee’s office. She claimed Buzbee’s team encouraged her to file a lawsuit over allegations unrelated to Combs, despite her clear statement that the claims did not involve him. The woman also alleged that Buzbee’s firm coached her to fabricate details, and when she refused to lie, they dropped her as a client. The woman reached out to Spiro’s firm, fearing Buzbee’s retaliation and believing his actions undermined legitimate victims.
The woman claims “she felt directed and coached by Mr. Buzbee’s firm to say that someone held her down and put drugs in her mouth when that was not her experience.”
Per TMZ, Spiro’s associate says the woman told her “she felt forced to lie.”
Buzbee called the woman’s statements “ridiculous.”
