ICE CUBE SAYS EMINEM IS A TRUE B-BOY
Eminem mentions Ice Cube in “Rap God,” stating that the words to the Detroit rapper’s song are amazing.
Ice Cube remarked, “That song is lyrically incredible,” in a xxlmag.com interview. And you know, thank God. Still, the lyrics are king. Lyrics continue to be king, regardless of how commercialized hip-hop tries to become or how commercialized people perceive it, b-boys, and rappers to be.[Eminem] consistently provides high-quality work. That’s why he’s going to be around for a very long time—a true b-boy. He’s not a jerk who’s only interested in the perks. His motivation is to gain respect.
In addition to Ice Cube, Eminem honors several other rappers on “Rap God,” a song from his recently released The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Eminem raps on the song, “Me, I’m a product of Rakim, Lakim Shabazz, 2Pac, and N.W.A.” “Cube, Hello, Dr. Thank you, [MC] Ren, [DJ] Yella, and Eazy [-E].
According to Ice Cube, Eminem honors the rappers that came before him, which is the appropriate thing to do.
Cube remarked, “Em has always shown love and respect to N.W.A., and when you do that, you go a long way.” “I would be shouting out people like Ice T, Chuck D, and Melle Mel—the ones who came before me and were spitting that truth—if I did a song [like that].” They were the ones that inspired me. He has remained at the top the longest since it is simply an expression of love and respect.
2014 will see Ice Cube feature in some films that are set for release. He appears with Kevin Hart in Ride Along, and 22 Jump Street is the follow-up to 2012’s 21 Jump Street.
