'I would've signed anything': Arnau Tenas explains why he left Barca for PSG

Former Barcelona goalkeeper Arnau Tenas left the club in 2023 to sign for PSG as a free agent. The young Spanish goalie was rising quickly through the ranks and was considered by some as the heir to Ter Stegen’s throne between the post at Barca.

Thus, Tenas’ exit came as an unwelcome surprise for many Blaugrana faithful some of whom might’ve thought it had to do with money as was assumed in the case of Xavi Simons before him.

But Tenas continues to maintain that his departure was down to the club’s decision, not his.

“I left Barça because the club didn’t offer me a contract renewal,” Tenas said.

“I would have signed any contract given by the club, even go on loan if they wanted,” the goalkeeper adds.

Tenas is now progressing at PSG and is eyeing the Spanish national team. In August, he was the number between the sticks for Spain as they won Olympic gold in football.
