‘I was crying while playing for five minutes straight’: Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino on Marc-Andre ter Stegen injury

“I’ve recently had a serious knee injury and seeing it so close was very hard. I couldn’t hold back my tears,” Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino has told DAZN when asked about Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injury.

“I spent five minutes playing and crying,” the 21-year-old added.

Ter Stegen fell to the ground screaming in pain after landing on his right leg at a corner kick in the 44th minute against Villarreal. The German’s injury turned out to be season-ending.

Yeremy Pino suffered a cruciate ligament surgery in November 2023, having forced to spend over 200 days on the sidelines.
