Hear Christopher Meloni’s Take on a British Accent in New Commercial
Christopher Meloni’s fans were in for a treat this week when Mine Hill Distillery in Connecticut released a pair of new commercials featuring the beloved Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actor. At 63, Meloni showcased his charm and humor in the ads, one promoting the distillery’s bourbon and the other its gin.
In the bourbon commercial, Meloni humorously tried out a British accent. The ad began with him strolling through the distillery in a plaid shirt and jeans. Seventeen seconds into the 48-second clip, he donned a tri-corner hat, reminding viewers of Connecticut’s historical significance as one of the original 13 colonies.
“You think it’s all fun and patriot games here? Nutmeg and constitutions?” Meloni quipped, holding a jar of nutmeg and a roll of parchment. “If it weren’t for Connecticut, I’d be talking to you in an English accent right now.”
The scene then cut to Meloni in a British military uniform and white wig, delivering the next line in a British accent: “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
In the second ad for Mine Hill’s gin, Meloni highlighted some of Connecticut’s famous contributions, such as nutmeg, frisbees, and the hamburger’s origin story. He acknowledged that while the state isn’t known for gin, “that’s about to change,” and encouraged viewers to try the local liquor.
Though Meloni only used his British accent in the bourbon commercial, fans were thrilled to see more of him.
“I’m very simple… I see Chris Meloni, I click,” one fan wrote on YouTube.
“Yup my man knows what’s what 🔥🔥🔥,” another fan commented on Instagram.
“Now that’s what we call a great spot! Meloni is the man! 🍸🥩,” another user said.
One Instagram commenter suggested that Meloni’s involvement was already working wonders: “You have my attention and I would also like to try your legendary beverage,” they wrote.
Meloni’s playful performances in the Mine Hill Distillery ads have certainly captured fans’ attention, adding a delightful twist to Connecticut’s craft spirit scene.
