Eminem is back and so are his jabs..

The rapper released the Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) on Friday, July 12. It’s his first album in four years and has seemingly been marketed as the end of his alter ego Slim Shady, who was previously referenced in various songs.

The anticipated album features song like Houdini and Tobey but it has received a lot of backlash due to his songwriting. Eminem is known to not hold anything back, and this album was no different. The song Antichrist was written with the rapper mocking himself as the world’s bad guy and while doing so, he referenced the Diddy and Cassie attack.

The rapper rapped about the Diddy and Cassie altercation (Image: Getty Images for The Hollywood Reporter) Eminem’s lyrics read: “But who else is as pitiless, actually witty and crass, hideous  Ghastly, and insidious as me, or spitting as nasty?  Next idiot ask me is getting his ass beat worse than Diddy did — But on the real, though (What?) She probably ran out the room with his f—’ dildo (Come here) He try to field goal punt her, she said to chill (No).

This comes after footage from 2016 emerged from the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, obtained by CNN. The footage showed Diddy and Cassie in a physical altercation that matches events described in the now-settled lawsuit she brought against her ex last November. Cassie came forward with allegations against the rapper in November 2023, but the pair settled the lawsuit out of court quickly.

Eminem posted a warning about his album

The rapper warned listeners about the album, writing on social media: “Public Service Announcement: the ‘Death of Slim Shady’ is a conceptual album, therefore, if you listen to songs out of order they might not make sense. Enjoy.”

The first single from the new album, Houdini, was released in May and attracted controversy over an apparent “dig” at Megan Thee Stallion, who claimed that she had been shot in the feet by Tory Lanez in 2020. Tory was later found guilty of shooting her and was set to serve a 10-year sentence.
