SpaceX’s Starship will go to Mars by the end of 2026, according to Elon Musk’s confirmation. Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus, will be on board the ship.
Although he acknowledged that 2031 is more plausible, the tech mogul said that if all goes according to plan, mankind may be on the red planet by 2029.
In response to Musk’s statement, Optimus’ X account simply said, “Hold on.” “Starship is the world’s most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, capable of carrying up to 150 metric tonnes.
Fully reusable and 250 metric tonnes expendable,” SpaceX said on its website. Up to 275 tons are disposable and up to 165 tons are totally reusable in US tons.
Musk, who has long expressed his desire to take humans to Mars, was recently seen at the White House sporting a “Occupy Mars” t-shirt.
Musk’s statement, “I can’t think of anything more exciting than going out there and being among the stars,” is on SpaceX’s homepage on the company’s goal of “making humanity multiplanetary.”
Musk’s announcement of a Mars mission coincides with SpaceX’s fantastic week. In order to replace Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams,
Who have been stranded in space for nine months, SpaceX and NASA launched a crew on Friday that is its route to the International Space Station (ISS).
Wilmore and Williams, test pilots, were supposed to return to Earth on June 13, 2024, after taking off on Boeing’s Starliner on June 5, 2024.
But instead of sending the astronauts on the perilous flight home, NASA and Boeing decided to leave them on the ISS due to thruster malfunctions and helium leaks.
