Chopper Reveals Jay-Z Was With Beyoncé When Diddy Made Them Walk For Cheesecake

During the interview, Chopper discussed his experience of walking for cheesecake, a task made infamous by Diddy during *Making the Band*. Reflecting on it, Chopper admitted:

*“It was unnecessary. At the time, I was young and thought, ‘This must be how things work in the industry.’”*

The trek was grueling—a four-hour walk there and back, totaling eight hours. He noted how being young and impressionable made him susceptible to believing this was standard in the industry.

*“When you’re young, vulnerable, and they’re flashing money in your face, it’s easy to fall in line,”* he said. *“Diddy was just doing it for TV, to look tough.”*

Chopper revealed an unexpected twist: the cheesecake wasn’t just for anyone—it was for Beyoncé! She was recording “Bonnie and Clyde” with Jay-Z at the studio when she mentioned wanting a cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory.

*“Beyoncé said, ‘Y’all got Cheesecake Factory here? I want some cheesecake.’ And Diddy was like, ‘Oh, for real? I got an idea.’ That’s how it started,”* Chopper explained.

The crew made the long trek, but when they finally arrived, Chopper made a petty decision:

*“I dropped the cheesecake on purpose. No offense to Beyoncé, but I wasn’t about to walk that far just to deliver cheesecake!”*

To top it off, by the time they returned, Beyoncé and Jay-Z had already left the studio.

Chopper shed light on Diddy’s dynamic at Daddy’s House, a massive studio space where artists worked on their projects. While Jay-Z and Beyoncé kept a low profile, Jay always had a kind word for Chopper:

*“Jay was cool. He’d always chop it up with me, saying, ‘You’re a star.’ I respected him for that.”*

Despite the camaraderie, Chopper emphasized the manipulative nature of the industry. He recounted how Diddy’s treatment of Freddy P—a fellow band member—led to the group’s dissolution.

Chopper now looks back on the cheesecake walk with maturity, acknowledging it as part of Diddy’s strategy to exert control while creating dramatic television. However, he also highlighted the exploitation of young artists, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds:

*“When you’re young, from the trenches, and see money you never thought you’d touch, it’s easy to get taken advantage of. Producers like Diddy know this and use it.”*

Chopper’s story serves as a cautionary tale about the entertainment industry. It’s a reminder to stay vigilant, especially when young and eager to succeed. Thanks for tuning in, and stay tuned for more insightful stories! Peace out.
