‘Bye Messi, bye’: Cristiano Ronaldo posts bizarre racing video on same day Leo wins MLS trophy
Lionel Messi claimed the MLS Supporters’ Shield this Thursday, adding yet another trophy to his collection and setting a new record with 46 career titles –the most by any player.
But his long-time rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, couldn’t let this moment pass quietly. On the same day, he posted a peculiar video on his YouTube channel.
In a Formula 1-themed clip, Ronaldo’s race car overtakes everyone in the race for the title of top scorer, with the words “Bye, Messi, bye” as his car speeds past Leo.
The Portuguese boasts 904 career goals, while Messi is at 843. This is, perhaps, the only stat in which he still trails behind Ronaldo.
