Fans of Real Madrid have taken to social media to praise Vinicius Jr. in comparison to Kylian Mbappe in the club’s 2-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday. The Brazilian was fabulous for Los Blancos and combined brilliantly with Federico Valverde to double the lead.

Fans hailed the Ballon d’Or hopeful for his performance on X.

“I stand firm that Vinicius is a better footballer than Mbappé. I was already sure, but as this season progresses, it gets more clear with each week passing by,” a fan said.

Another fan post hailed the goal from Vinicius Jr, saying:

Another post hailed the dribbling abilities of the Los Blancos star.

Another fan hailed the increasing legacy the Brazilian star is garnering at the Santiago Bernabeu.

A fan was eager to see the star at the Ballon d’Or awards later this month.

“I’ve run out of words to describe Vinicius. Best player in the world. Can’t wait for this Ballon d’Or ceremony, I’m going to be an emotional wreck.”

Vinicius was taken off injured in the match after his glorious goal. The forward will be keen to return as soon as he can and continue his fine form. He has bagged four goals and seven assists in LaLiga this season.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has shared his concerns about the injury sustained by Dani Carvajal in the club’s 2-0 win over Villarreal. The defender was taken off late in the game after a suspected knee injury.

Ancelotti lamented the injury to the experienced defender.

“We are going to wait for the medical evaluation. The doctor said that he has a knee injury but we have to wait to do tests. Hopefully it will be as minor as possible,” Ancelotti said (h/t Forbes).

“The dressing room is sad and worried, just like Dani. He is a very, very important player for us, fundamental for his experience, seriousness, professionalism. We are going to wait.”

Real Madrid will hope the Euro 2024 winner can recover quickly and return to help the side later in the campaign.
