Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are headed for splitsville, according to a report. The “Gone Girl” actor and “Mary Me” actress are just months away from celebrating their second wedding anniversary. However, an insider claimed they are unlikely to celebrate another marriage milestone as they are allegedly going to part ways.
“The writing is on the wall — it’s over,” an unnamed source told In Touch. “They’re headed for a divorce — and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!”
Affleck and Lopez have been spending time apart in the past weeks. Lopez noticeably attended the 2024 Met Gala, which she co-chaired, sans her husband. He was reportedly hard at work filming “The Accountant 2” in Los Angeles.
It was reportedly Affleck who “decided to call it quits.”
“He’s focusing on his work and his kids now,” the insider added. “Ben already moved out, and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”
The tipster added that among the struggles between the celebrity couple is the different ways they handle the spotlight. The “Batman” star is more reserved and private, while the “Let’s Get Loud” singer loves the media attention.
“I don’t think [Ben] is very comfortable with me doing all of this,” Lopez said in the documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”
“But he loves me, he knows I’m an artist, and he’s gonna support me in every way he can because he knows you can’t stop me from making the music I made… he doesn’t want to stop me. But that doesn’t mean he’s comfortable being the muse.”
The claim about Affleck and Lopez’ heading for divorce and the actor-director leaving their shared home came after the “Jenny from the Block” singer was seen house hunting in Beverly Hills. She was spotted exiting a luxury property without Affleck on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Affleck was last seen over the Mother’s Day weekend with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their two kids — Violet, 18, and Samuel, 12. Lopez was noticeably missing during the sighting.
