Atletico fans throw objects at Courtois – how Carles Puyol reacted to Real Madrid fans doing exactly the same
The Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid game was temporarily suspended in the second half as the home fans threw objects at the opposition goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The Belgian picked up the lighter and showed it to the referee. He then threw away several objects thrown at him, including a bag of trash.
Back in 2013, Barcelona faced Real Madrid in El Clasico at the Bernabeu. The Whites supporters threw a lighter on the pitch.
Gerard Pique picked up the lighter and wanted to show it to the referee, but Carles Puyol stopped him, took the lighter and just threw it away.
The older centre-back just wanted the game to continue and did not want to be distracted by the few idiots in the crowds.
