Upon his arrival in Uganda, and presser in Naguru, Kampala ahead of his concert at Kololo Independence grounds, this Saturday, March 2, English reggae singer Ali Campbell and his team met Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba – the First Son and presidential adviser on special operations – today, March 1.
Campbell was a former member of English reggae and pop band UB40.
After meeting Campbell and his team, Muhoozi took to his X page, and said: “Today, it was my pleasure to meet members of the world famous band, UB40. I wished them a successful performance in Kampala tomorrow and encouraged them to return to visit some of our national parks next time. I thank the organisers of the concert.”
At the presser, Campbell expressed how disheartened he was when last year’s scheduled concert was cancelled and consequently postponed. He, however, noted how big of a fanbase Ugandans are, and that they are ready to reward them with their money’s worth.
One of the main organisers of the concert – Talent Africa – represented by CEO Aly Allibhai, revealed during the presser that his journey as a promoter started right at the first UB40 concert in 2008.
The concert is scheduled for tomorrow, March 2. “Come and enjoy some good reggae music, you know!” Campbell urged his Ugandan fans.
Could the First Son be setting himself ready to attend the concert? Maybe.
