Miley Cyrus’ mum Tish reckons that smoking pot when she first welcomed her children would have made her a better mother – and wishes she was ‘more fun’ as a parent

Miley Cyrus’ mum Tish thinks she’d have been a better mum if she’d started smoking weed earlier.

Tish, who is mum to Miley, her sisters Noah and Brandi, and brothers Braison and Trace, wishes she’d been more “fun” when her children were growing up. Opening up on her podcast Sorry We’re Stoned along with daughter Brandi, Tish, 56, opened up about her marijuana usage.

She revealed: “I actually feel like I would’ve been… I didn’t smoke pot when I had kids. I didn’t start smoking until I was like, 46. And so I think I would’ve been a better parent if I would’ve smoked then. I think I would’ve been… like, I don’t know, school projects, I would’ve felt more fun.”

Tish reckons she’d be “more tolerant” if she’d been smoking at the time, confessing: “I was just like, ‘Argh!’ And so I really do wish I had smoked then.” It was daughter Miley who got her into cannabis in the first place – which stemmed from a tour bus catching fire.

I was like, ‘This is the devil, the gateway drug’. But we were on tour and I’m on a brand new tour bus with Noah and Miley’s manager. I’m going to sleep, but there is a fire from a burst tyre.

“We pull to the side of the road, I’m trying to get Noah, my dog and to wake the manager up. Three minutes later, the bus exploded. My pyjamas, laptop everything burnt. It was crazy.” As a result of the stress, Tish took a sleeping pill but it didn’t help.

“Miley was like, ‘Mom, if you could just smoke weed’. That’s how it started. I started smoking to go to sleep. I am a Christian and I love weed,” she added.

But despite Tish now turning to weed, it seems her relationship with daughter Noah is fraught after rumours she hooked up with her now-husband Dominic Purcell while Noah, 24, was allegedly dating him. Tish hasn’t broken her silence on the rumours concerning the Prison Break star, but one source claimed to Us Weekly: “Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started pursuing him.”

Tish admitted on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she’s had a long-time crush on Dominic since seeing him play Lincoln Burrows in Prison Break – and even joked he was her “hall pass” while she was still married to Billy Ray Cyrus.

She explained: “In 2016, Dom DM’d me. I had followed him on Instagram and he DMed me and just said, ‘Hey Tish, just wanted to [say], I think you’re super cool and… you’re doing such a great job with your family.’ I didn’t see it for a year.”
