In a conversation on the “We In Miami” podcast, Ming Lee shared what it was like growing up as Nicki Minaj’s sister. She admitted that it was tough, as people often questioned why Nicki didn’t do more for her, which led to bullying.

Despite the challenges, Ming Lee emphasized her desire for independence, stating she never needed Nicki’s help to reach her goals. She also spoke about their relationship, mentioning that while they were never particularly close, Nicki always made sure they were okay.

However, Nicki didn’t appreciate her sister discussing their relationship publicly. She voiced her displeasure during a recent Stationhead session, where she referred to Ming Lee as a “clown” and a “mooch,” expressing frustration that someone outside her industry would discuss her in interviews.

Ming Lee, in response, expressed love for her sister despite the harsh comments, acknowledging that her feelings were hurt but reaffirming that she was focused on pleasing God first.

Some fans believe that Nicki’s reaction may have also been triggered by a separate interview where Ming Lee was asked to choose between Nicki and Cardi B, one of Nicki’s well-known rivals. Ming Lee diplomatically refused to choose, which might have contributed to Nicki’s frustration.

Ming Lee has since been focusing on her own music career, sharing how music has always been a significant part of her life, helping her feel secure and express herself. Despite the rocky start and the challenges of being in the shadow of a famous sibling, she remains determined to carve out her own path in the music industry.
