Harrison Butker: Patrick Mahomes admits to NEVER interacting with turmoiled Chiefs kicker: ‘I don’t say one word to him’ | HO

Patrick Mahomes has once admitted to rarely interacting with his Chiefs teammate Harrison Butker, who is in the spotlight for his controversial comments on women.

Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show shortly after the Chiefs’ second consecutive Super Bowl win in February, Mahomes revealed that he doesn’t nearly have as much of a ‘bromance’ with Butker as he does with Travis Kelce.

‘Honestly, I don’t talk to Harrison all year long, man. I just let him do his thing,’ said the 28-year-old quarterback.

‘But I know if I can just cross that 40, man, if I cross that 40, he’s going to put it through there. I know if you saw in the game I got a little pressure, threw it short and knew Harrison was going to knock it through.’

Butker, also 28, has made headlines on and off the field for contrasting reasons. He’s undoubtedly one of the best kickers in the NFL, considering that he’s knocked down 90 percent of his field goal attempts, as he even set the record for the longest make in league history. Off the field, his commencement address at Benedictine College last Saturday was deemed ‘unacceptable’, as well as bigoted and misogynistic.

The kicker claimed that most of the women graduating from the private liberal arts college in Kansas were most excited to be homemakers, as he also denounced Pride Month, calling the LGBTQ+ celebration a ‘deadly sin.’

‘For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment,’ he said. ‘I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you. Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.’

Butker also criticized President Joe Biden for being a pro-choice Catholic and his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. A father of two, Butker previously stated that he grew up Catholic but practiced less as he got older and when he went to high school and college. He said that he rediscovered his faith later in life and noted that ‘…the sacrament of confession, that’s really what changed me.’

‘Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally,’ Butker said.

In Mahomes interview with McAfee, the three-time Super Bowl MVP revealed that there is little-to-no chatter between him and Butker throughout the season.

‘We sit right beside each other in team meetings, and I don’t say one word to him. Only before the season and after the season.’

The Chiefs have not commented on Butker’s controversial commencement address, although fans of Taylor Swift have called for the NFL to ban the kicker, as well as a petition that has garnered 60,000 signatures so far on change.org.
