In a new video posted to his Instagram on Tuesday, Eminem has teased an upcoming single titled “Houdini,” set to release this Friday. The video features Eminem Facetiming with renowned illusionist David Blaine, hinting at a possible collaboration.

Eminem teases 'Houdini' single: 'I'm gonna make my career disappear'

In the video, Eminem asks Blaine, “How far can we go with this magic? Can we do a stunt or something?” Blaine, wearing dark shades and a baseball cap, responds by drinking a glass of wine and taking a bite out of the glass, prompting gasps of horror from the background.

Eminem then quips, “Well, for my last trick, I’m gonna make my career disappear.”

“Wait, what?” Blaine responds, looking puzzled.

The video concludes with the “Houdini” title, a snippet of an instrumental, and Friday’s date. “Houdini” is set to be the first single from Eminem’s upcoming album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce),” which was announced last month during Eminem’s appearance at the NFL Draft’s first night. The single’s artwork was revealed on Wednesday.

Interestingly, the single shares its title with a recent Dua Lipa release from her new album, “Radical Optimism,” which came out in November. Earlier this month, an obituary for Slim Shady ran in The Detroit News and other newspapers, serving as an analog marketing piece for the album that quickly went viral.

Last week, Eminem teased the date May 31 on social media with the message, “…and for my last trick!” This led fans to speculate whether it was the release date for a single, a track listing, or the full “Death of Slim Shady” album, which is slated for a summer 2024 release but has no specific date yet.

“The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)” will be Eminem’s 12th studio album, following his 2020 release “Music to Be Murdered By.” As anticipation builds, fans are eagerly awaiting what might be one of Eminem’s most intriguing projects yet.
