In a collaborative effort to strengthen community bonds throughout the greater Los Angeles area, the Los Angeles Chargers, iconic rapper Snoop Dogg, and former 11-year NFL pro T.J. Houshmandzadeh have united to establish a groundbreaking youth flag football league.

Named the Snoop & Housh Flag Football League, this innovative initiative is supported by Nike and operates under the auspices of NFL Flag, the official flag football league of the NFL.

Set to kιck off its inaugural season in March, the league will host games in prominent locations across the L.A. area, including El Segundo, Long Beach, and Cerritos.

Snoop Dogg, no stranger to youth sports involvement, has previously made significant contributions through his Snoop Youth Football League, founded in 2005, which has positively impacted countless children.

Expressing enthusiasm for the new venture, the rapper, known as Calvin Broadus Jr., shared, “We’re taking this to the streets, giving the kids a chance to shine, catch them flags, and rep the city with pride. Flag football isn’t just a game; it’s a pathway for our youth to learn teamwork, discipline, building character, teaching life skills, and showing these young ballers how we stay elevated.”

Snoop’s deep connections to Long Beach are well-documented, while Houshmandzadeh, part of the dynamic wide receiver duo with Chad Johnson during his time with the Cincinnati Bengals, has roots at Cerritos College before his transfer to the University of Oregon.

Having played 11 impactful years in the NFL, accumulating over 7,000 yards and 600 catches, Houshmandzadeh is poised to bring his passion for football to the next generation through this new league.

The Snoop & Housh Flag Football League is designed to be inclusive, welcoming boys and girls of all skill levels from Pre-K through 8th grade. Made possible by the Los Angeles Chargers Impact Fund, which aims to create a vibrant community for L.A.’s youth, the league endeavors not only to shape the future of football in Los Angeles but also to impact the lives of its participants positively. Enrolled kids in the Snoop & Housh Flag Football League will not only engage in the thrill of the game but will also have the opportunity to partake in various experiences, including attending Chargers games, joining training camps, and participating in events featuring current and former Chargers legends. With plans for winter, spring, and fall seasons, registration is currently open, promising an exciting future for youth flag football in Los Angeles.
