‘For me, Messi is probably the best of all time because of his talent’: Rudiger settles the historic rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo

Antonio Rudiger has expressed his views on the Lionel Messi versus Cristiano Ronaldo debate. “I don’t like that debate,” he stated. The defender has played against both stars during his career, facing Ronaldo while he was at Manchester United.

Rudiger explained that he has had multiple encounters with Lionel Messi in crucial matches between Barcelona and Chelsea. He added, “For me, Messi, individually because of his talent, is probably the best of all time, in my opinion.”

Despite his admiration for Messi, Rudiger acknowledged Ronaldo’s impressive record. He said, “What he has done in terms of individual achievements and his numbers, goals, dedication, and competitive hunger even now… means they are simply both up there together.”

Rudiger concluded, “I have to respect them both in the same way. I don’t think it’s fair to try to put one above the other.” His comments reflect a balanced view of two of football’s greatest players.
