Hansi Flick on Ter Stegen’s injury: ‘It looks serious’
Hansi Flick is worried about his Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen after he picked up an injury against Villarreal.
Speaking about the goalkeeper’s situation, Flick stated: “I think Ter Stegen’s injury will be a serious one. We need to wait to wait for the diagnosis.
“Ter Stegen’s injury is tough for us, we’ll see what the results say. We have to take care of the players we have now considering the number of games we play.”
It is being widely reported that Ter Stegen’s season is probably over after he re-injured his right knee in a rather unfortunate fashion.
The German goalkeeper was actually having a great game before the knock, making a few great saves to keep the hosts at bay.
Inaki Pena is currently Barca no.1 after Ter Stegen’s injury, but this might force the Blaugrana to look into the possibility of signing a new goalkeeper soon.
