With a series of blockbuster comedies and long tours, comedian Kevin Hart has taken the top spot on Forbes’ list of “highest-earning comedians” of the year.
According to Forbes, Hart earned an estimated $87.5 million in the past year, from June 1, 2015 to June 1, 2016.
The majority of Hart’s income, who starred in many famous films such as “Ride Along,” “The Wedding Ringer” and “Central Intelligence,” comes from “touring like a rock star.”
In the past year alone, the 37-year-old star, father of two, has participated in more than 100 live shows, with activities associated with his name and these shows are always sold out.
Hart’s top spot is even more impressive, as he’s the first comedian to earn more than Jerry Seinfeld since Forbes began compiling its list of the world’s highest-paid people nearly a decade ago.
Still, Seinfeld is at his peak, coming in second with $43.5 million in earnings over the past year.
The bulk of his income comes from royalties from his sitcom, after signing a major deal with streaming service Hulu.
Seinfeld also continues to tour regularly, and his comedy videos on the popular website Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee just started streaming a new season on Crackle.
Another notable name on the list is Amy Schumer, who came in at No. 4 and is the first female comedian to make Forbes’ prestigious list.
The 35-year-old actress earned $17 million last year, with big profits coming from a book deal, the comedy series “Inside Amy Schumer,” plus her paycheck for the blockbuster “Trainwreck.”
