MMA fans were excited when former fighter Gina Carano appeared in Fast and Furious 6 alongside the action stars. Part 7 of this hit series will continue to have another famous face in the American MMA world, Ronda Rousey. The 26-year-old female fighter is completing the final steps of negotiations to take on the role in the blockbuster, which will be released next year.

If everything goes well, Fast 7 will be the second film that Rousey will appear in. Before that, she just accepted to participate in another action film, which also received a lot of attention, The Expendables 3 , by veteran star Sylvester Stallone. In this film, Rousey only plays a small role but requires showing strong fighting ability.


Currently, Ronda Rousey is the reigning bantamweight champion (from 51 to 53.5kg) of the UFC, the largest and most prestigious MMA tournament. Previously, she won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a gold medal at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Judo. Rousey is also considered the beauty queen of this powerful sport.

Fast and Furious 7 is directed by James Wan. This Malaysian filmmaker is famous for a series of horror movies such as Saw , Insidious and most recently The Conjuring . The film’s script was written by Chris Morgan. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson will return to their roles along with a new face, “Transporter” Jason Statham. Fast and Furious 7

is expected to start filming this fall in Atlanta. The film is set in Los Angeles, where the events of the first episode took place, and also has scenes filmed in Tokyo (Japan) and the Middle East. The film will be released on June 11, 2014.
