Rock Ross has spoken out after he was attacked at a Canadian music festival by furious Drake fans for playing a Kendrick Lamar ‘diss track’ aimed at the rapper.
Ross, 48, whose real name is William Roberts, played a set at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday; ending his set with Kenrick’s chart-topping song against Drake, Not Like Us, a decision that resulted in fury from several concert goers.
Now, Ross has broken his silence for the first time since the shocking incident by sharing a post on his Instagram account, in which he appeared to entirely ignore the furor altogether, simply stating that he had ‘fun’ during his trip.
‘Vancouver it was fun, till next time,’ the rapper wrote while posing in front of a black private jet emblazoned with his name.
Ross’s seemingly casual post about his time in Canada gave away little about the chaos that unfolded during the end of his set.
As the rapper left the stage, with the song still playing. While he was leaving, he was confronted by a group of Drake fans who were unhappy with his closing song choice.
Footage of the attack shared on social media shows a man who appears to be Ross in a heated argument with a male festival attendee.
The man later throws a punch in Ross’ direction, prompting a brawl.
The scuffle didn’t appear to have impacted Ross’ time in Canada, with the rapper posting an Instagram story on Monday in front of his Rick Ross branded private jet, writing: ‘Vancouver, it was fun, till next time.’
In the series of photos, he is also seen sipping on champagne and eating lunch with his entourage.
Drake, 37, appeared to have taken aim at Ross earlier in the year in his track Push Ups. The track included the lyrics, ‘I might take your latest girl and cuff her like Ricky / Can’t believe he’s jumping in, this n—- turning 50 / Every song that made it on the chart he got from Drizzy.’
Ross clapped back with his song Champagne Moments, suggesting Drake had a nose job.
Canadian star Drake and American rapper Kendrick Lamar have been embroiled in a furious rivalry for years.
Lamar, 37, made some serious accusations on his track Not Like Us, released earlierin May, 2024.
In the song, the Compton-born rapper appears to accuse Drake of being a pedophile, along with another member of his crew.
It was released on YouTube with what appeared to be a graphic of Drake’s home covered with red sex offender symbols.

Drake responded in May, releasing The Heart Part 6, rapping: ‘Drake is not a name that you gon’ see on no sex offender list.
Lamar took aim at the Canadian rapper again in June, hosting the star-studded show, The Pop Out – Ken & Friends at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.
He initially took to the stage opening with his track Euphoria, which is another diss-track aimed at Drake – and it included new lyrics.
According to the BBC, the song included a new line, with the hitmaker rapping: ‘Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect.’
The new addition seems to reference how Drake purchased the late Tupac Shakur’s crown ring for more than $1 million in July 2023, as an anonymous bidder.
While Ross was fighting against Drake’s fans, the rapper was celebrating Canada Day, posting a series of videos and photos to his Instagram stories.
He was seen in one clip singing along to a song before looking at the camera and saying ‘happy Canada Day.’
In another clip, a friend is seen squeezing a slice of lemon into a drink before clinking his glass with presumably Drake, who was holding the camera and taking a sip, putting a emoji of a Canadian flag and maple leaf on it.
The rapper concluded the day with fireworks, posting a video of the sky show lighting up as he enjoys it with friends.
