Ronda Rousey wrestled for just the second time since her departure from WWE and took a big hit during the main event, but fortunately was left unscathed.

The 36-year-old, who was once the figurehead of women’s UFC, was competing in the Wrestling Evolver Unreal Event against an AEW duo.

Rousey teamed up with Marina Shafi for their bout against Athena and Billie Starkz that eventually ended in a no contest result caused by foul play.

However, there was concern that Rousey wouldn’t be able to continue in the fight when she took a heavy hit after landing directly on her head following one exchange.

Rousey once became the first ever female UFC champion and endured a three-year stay at the top of the sport, before eventually leaving the octagon permanently in 2016 after suffering a second career loss against Amanda Nunes.

She took a heavy-hit midway through her latest wrestling venture when Starkz performed a suplex that temporarily had the superstar concerned.

Rousey was attempting to perform a pin before she was hoisted into the air and thrown backwards into the floor of the ring, but landed on her neck.

There was a momentary pause from Rousey while she lay on the floor and was spoken to by a referee who appeared to be concerned for her safety.

However, she was soon back up on her feet and competing while the other fighters continued to grapple in the ring.

Rousey was then involved in later controversy when she was struck by Athena with the ROH Women’s Championship that ended the fight in a no contest.

Her latest wrestling appearance comes after Mail Online revealed that Rousey was considering quitting the sport to have one last shot at another UFC title.

She hasn’t been short of work in recent years after taking parts in a string of movies, including Charlie’s Angels and Furious 7.
