Henry Cavill looks fantastic as the Marvel Cinematic Universe hero he revealed he would play. Cavill has yet to appear in the MCU, with the actor being most famously known for playing Superman in the DCEU. With his time as the Man of Steel over, Cavill can now embark on a new superhero adventure, becoming part of the MCU’s upcoming movies in an interesting role.
Cavill previously revealed that Captain Britain is the Marvel role he would like to play, saying, “I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain and that would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that — like the way they modernized Captain America.” Captain Britain’s MCU debut has become more possible after a 2023 project.

How Henry Cavill’s Captain Britain Could Fit Into The MCU’s Multiverse Saga
Captain Britain Could Bring In A New Team To The MCU
If he joins the franchise as Brian Braddock, Cavill’s Captain Britain could be part of an MCU team that has been set up by Secret Invasion. At the end of the Disney+ series, Olivia Colman’s Sonya Falsworth, a member of MI6, struck a deal to work together with Emilia Clarke’s G’iah. With the increase of British heroes in the MCU’s recent projects, such as Moon Knight (Steven Grant) and Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitmann, aka Black Knight, the MCU could be setting up the MI-13 team, which included Captain Britain in the comics.
MI-13 is a British intelligence organization that serves to protect the United Kingdom from mystical, extraterrestrial, and other uncanny threats. Cavill’s possible debut as Captain Britain would mean that the hero will play a key role in the MCU, as Marvel would be unlikely to cast the actor who played the DCEU’s Superman in a low-profile role. Due to that, Captain Britain could also be part of another team with multiverse ramifications.
With the Council of Kangs — a team of variants of the villain — having debuted in the MCU, Marvel could bring in other multiversal superhero teams to help take down the Kangs. Based on that, Cavill’s Captain Britain could be revealed as the main MCU Earth’s representative of the Captain Britain Corps in one of the next Avengers movies. The Captain Britain Corps’ job is that each member should protect their own reality, thus guarding the junction of them all: the Omniverse. An important Multiverse Saga role is just what Henry Cavill needs if he joins the MCU.
An Avengers: Endgame Easter Egg May Have Already Set Up Captain Britain
While a Captain Britain project may not necessarily fit with Bob Iger’s plans for the MCU to concentrate more on “stronger brands” and those familiar to fans, Captain Britain may have already been set up in the MCU. In Avengers: Endgame, when Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers heads back to the past to retrieve the Pym Particles with Tony Stark from SHIELD HQ, he accidentally overhears Peggy Carter giving a mission report. She mentions a SHIELD agent named “Braddock” who hasn’t yet checked in, as well as a meteorologic event that was “not lightning.” The latter inspired excited fan commentary that it might point towards X-Men legend Storm’s existence in the timeline.
The Braddock reference is even more loaded, of course. Captain Britain’s alter-ego Brian Braddock being a SHIELD agent in the 1970s probably wouldn’t make sense, but the MCU has a track record for setting up family bloodlines in the past that lead to later generation characters. Captain America: The First Avenger introduced Howling Commandos member James Montgomery Falsworth decades before Olivia Colman’s Sonya Falsworth appeared in Secret Invasion. So it’s possible the Braddock of Endgame‘s past timeline could be used as the father of a modern day Captain Britain.
Naturally, there’s also the question of Captain Carter, whose multiversal story replaced Steve Rogers as the subject of the Super Soldier program, and who brandished a Union Jack branded uniform and shield. But that wouldn’t have to be an impediment to a new Captain Britain appearing. And Cavill would certainly be the kind of acting brand who could bring the star quality to brush any concerns aside.
