According to Variety, Kamala Harris’ campaign took advantage of Trump’s “I hate Taylor Swift” statement. Harris’s side issued a lengthy statement, including 28 mentions of the song’s name or lyrics.

The post released by the Democratic candidate’s campaign on the morning of September 15 was titled Trump’s Bad Week (Taylor version). The statement opened with the sentence “We’re pretty sure this is the week that broke Mr. Trump. He spent the whole week processing his emotions, complaining about many problems.”

Immediately after the statement appeared, Swift’s audience realized that Harris mentioned Taylor Swift’s work many times. The large number of songs mentioned by the US vice president’s campaign shows that they have researched carefully.

Taylor Swift expresses support for Kamala Harris.

The release of a post mentioning the Cardigan singer after Trump said “I hate Taylor Swift” helped Harris’s campaign receive a lot of support from Swifties (Swift’s fan group).

According to Variety, Harris mentioned Taylor Swift 28 times in total, including songs like Safe & Sound, Call It What You Want, Shake It Off, Bad Blood, Blank Space, The Last Time, The Story of Us, 1989… In the post, Harris said that “Trump is too emotional to be president of the United States”.

Trump made the statement “I hate Taylor Swift” on the morning of September 15. The capitalized words show the strong emotions of the US presidential candidate. According to Variety, this is the third time Trump has attacked the female singer in just 5 days.

On September 11, Donald Trump warned Taylor Swift that she would pay the price for calling for a vote for Harris. Two days later, his campaign released a knockoff version of The Era Tours T-shirt. The shirt had his name on it instead of Taylor Swift’s and became campaign merchandise. This action angered Taylor Swift’s fans.

Earlier this year, when he planned to return to the White House, Trump criticized Swift for being ungrateful. The former president said that during his 2017-2021 term, he signed the Music Modernization Act to support the careers of Taylor and other artists.

With this act, Taylor initiated the re-recording of her first six studio albums, taking back ownership of the lyrics, vocals and albums from her old company. Therefore, Trump was dissatisfied when Taylor supported Biden instead of standing by him.
