The news of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck has dominated news cycles for a few months. People have been speculating about the split for a while with no real clarity from the couple.

Now, it seems like someone who knows the couple wants to make a few things clear.

While there are rampant rumors about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s separation and their marriage being essentially over, the couple has still not made any official announcement about any of it.

A source told the media that the reason for not revealing anything is because the “couple “waiting to announce their official split, because they “want to make sure everything is seamless when they do, especially with everyone involved. Neither of them want this process to be rushed. They are treating the separation with as much grace, understanding, and gentleness as they can.”

To the media and public, their split seems almost obvious. The couple have not been spotted together in months. They even spent recent holidays apart with Lopez vacationing in Europe without Affleck by her side. She also celebrated her 55th birthday with Affleck being noticeably absent from the party.

The couple have five children between them. Affleck shares three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

The source mentioned the kids in the equation. They said, “They want to make sure the kids are comfortable with the transition and where they are living, etcetera. They don’t want to make it feel like they’re pulling the rug from underneath their children. They’re making a mutual effort to ensure that this transition is as healthy and easy as possible.”

Another source shared that since getting his own place, Affleck has been feeling “hopeful.” The new property is closer to his ex, Jennifer Garner and he can hence co-parent much more easily too.

“Ben really likes his new home and feels hopeful about the change,” the source shared. “It’s been a hard time for him, but he’s continuing to make his wellbeing and his family a priority.”

Another source agreed with this, they said, “Ben wanted to be closer to his kids with his new home and wanted a new, fresh, personal space where he can focus on work and be in his most creative zone without any outside distractions.”

As for Lopez, a source close to her noted that she is “also ready to move forward and is ready to close this chapter cordially.”

“The timing of the transition made her birthday a bit more difficult, but with the support of her friends and family, she’s doing her best day by day,” the source went on.

This was not the first time Lopez and Affleck were together. The couple were originally together from 2002 to 2004. They called off their first engagement in January 2004. However, they reunited and rekindled their relationship in 2021, tying the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022.
