Hailey and Justin Bieber’s pregnancy announcement has fans thinking about only one thing — a baby name.

As fans are musing and speculating, they’re also realizing all the ways that a simply name could stir up some longtime drama. They’re guessing that Hailey might name the baby “Emory” which would be a reference to a plan Selena Gomez once had. Back when Selena and Justin were loved up, a fan asked her what she’d name her baby. She replied: “Emory, insert my husband’s last name. Yeah, Emory Bieber.”

Now that Hailey is the one actually dating Justin, she could slight Selena with a simple baby name. A fan said: “If she had had a boy, she would have named it Emory Bieber. Ever since I keep thinking that Hailey might use that name in a way.”

There’s no official word on what Hailey and Justin are planning for baby names, but one fan said if she decides to steal Emory, “people WILL notice.” Fans’ imaginations have run wild following the Instagram reveal which showed off Hailey’s baby bump in a bold display.

Plus, in the photos, Hailey and Justin appeared to reiterate their vows to each other, emphasizing yet again that they found “the one” in each other. If Hailey decides to find a way to shade Selena, this would just be another blow for the star considering, at one point, she and Justin seemed like they were meant to be.

Hailey and Justin met when they were young. In fact, Hailey was just a fan of the global pop star before they grew a deeper bond. For years, they were just friends, making it very clear on social media that nothing was happening between them both. When Justin and Selena linked up, Hailey even offered public support for the young lovers.

However, when Selena and Justin split, Hailey and Justin appeared to get pretty cozy. While they straddled the line between a public confirmation and keeping their love private, fans began noticing some tension between Selena and Hailey. It only get worse when Justin briefly went back to Selena before returning to Hailey.

With many years of bad blood between them, fans often reignite the feud. In March 2023, Selena even asked fans to reel in their attacks. She wrote on Instagram: “She contacted me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and so much negativity. I have always advocated for kindness and I really want this to stop.”
