Tim McGraw Shocks Fans After Admitting New Role Is “Like Nothing I’ve Ever Done Before”

This time, he’ll be portraying a competitive bull rider for a Netflix original series.

It’s an exciting time to be a Tim McGraw fan! The country music star, who is in the middle of his Standing Room Only tour, made some major announcements this week, much to the surprise of his followers online.

Tim’s fans will know he’s no stranger to acting, after impressive turns in Friday Night Lights, The Blindside, Yellowstone spinoff 1883, and more. He’s returning to the small screen once again with a role on a brand-new Netflix series. The streaming service calls it “a contemporary cowboy saga.”

Not much has been revealed about the series, but, according to Deadline, the show is set in the world of competitive bull riding and “follows a megastar champion (Tim McGraw) facing a life-or-death crossroads when confronted by the arrival of a fearless young rider whose very existence challenges his ways and unearths secrets that force him to reckon with his past.”

Tim shared a photo of the script on Instagram and wrote, “This is like nothing I’ve ever done before…. So excited for you to see what we’ve been working on!! Coming soon on @netflix.”

Even more exciting, it seems like this is the beginning of a new chapter for Tim. His show will be produced by Down Home, a new entertainment company founded by Tim.

He shared the news in a separate post, saying, “It’s been hard to keep this one a secret for so long! Storytelling has always been one of my biggest passions and I’m ready to take that same passion and apply it to something even bigger. I can’t reveal too much just yet, but I can promise you that this company is going to be something special.”
