THREE university students have moved into Amy Winehouse’s former apartment.

The third year UCL students had no idea they had moved into the apartment that the iconic songstress called home during her heyday, with the trio moving into the Prowse Place digs earlier this week.

Jamie, Katie and Nathanael, who are studying science, said they were shocked when they realised their new flat had been the home of the Back to Black singer.

Katie told The Tab: “I was looking at the virtual tour and there were like annotations to it and I saw things that used the name Amy on it like ‘Amy’s fridge where she used to pin up drawings she made’ and stuff and was like ‘who tf is Amy’.”

The apartment, which came unfurnished, includes three bedrooms, an open living area as well as two bathrooms.

The apartment also comes with a small private garden and a smoking balcony.

But some have said the famous singer had felt “trapped” in her former home due to the constant presence of paparazzi lurking around Camden.

A bronze statue of Winehouse has even been erected in Camden Town to pay tribute to the singer.

The  young UCL students said they were now planning their own hommage to the star.

Katie said: “We’re gonna have dinner parties and a viewing of the Amy Winehouse film on our projector.

“We’re considering a proper party but haven’t decided yet because rugby lads have potential to ruin our lives by breaking everything.

Jamie said the trio, who are not paying any more than the average price for the area, were now excited to head back to university.

He said: “It’s pretty novel living in Amy’s old place and I’m pretty hyped about the house party potential.

“But if I’m honest I’m just happy to have a dishwasher and a bath.”

Winehouse had lived in the Prowse Place flat for a number of years before moving to 30 Camden Square, which was her final home before she died in July 2011.

The English singer was awarded five 2008 Grammy Awards, while also wining three Ivor Novello Awards.

The singer died when she was just 27, with her album Back to Black becoming the UK’s best-selling album of the 21st century after her death.

According to Zoopla estimates, the property is now worth about £1,076,000 and is worth £3300 per calendar month.
